HABC Level 1 Award in Food Safety in Catering
Level 1 – ensures that employees from all food sectors are equipped with a knowledge of basic food hygiene to enable them to produce safe food.
Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is for anyone working in a retail environment in a role dealing with food, and for those who are preparing to work in such a role. (or those about to start work in the industry).
• The importance of food safety
• An awareness of food safety hazards and how they can be prevented
• The importance of personal hygiene
• The importance of cleaning and disinfection
A multiple-choice examination. The duration of the examination is 30 minutes. Successful learners must achieve a score of at least 10 out of 15 (a minimum pass mark of 66%).
