Highfield Level 3 Award in Food Safety For Retail (RQF)

The training of food handlers is a legal requirement, and the key to profitability and high standards of food safety is to ensure their competency.

This course is available to take as Qualify At Home, turning home working into home learning and qualifying and helping you keep your business on the front foot during the COVID-19 crisis.

Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is aimed at those working in the food retail industry who are at or wish to progress to, a higher or supervisory level. This qualification sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The RQF includes those qualifications regulated by Ofqual and CCEA Regulation. Candidates who successfully pass the exam will receive a nationally recognised certificate awarded by Highfield Qualifications.

 

  • Food safety legislation,
  • Application and monitoring of good hygiene practice
  • How to implement food safety management procedures
  • Application and monitoring of good practice regarding contamination, microbiology and temperature control

Three days in the classroom.

9 – 14 hours distance/e-learning.

Assessment Method

This qualification is assessed by a multiple-choice examination. Learners must complete 45 questions within 90 minutes. Successful learners will have to achieve a pass mark of 60% (27/45). Learners will receive a Distinction if they achieve a pass mark of 80% (36/45).
